Walking and inspiration

13938530_1233928703284421_825549487091051465_nHello and welcome to August.  I am trying to believe that this is summer and bring out my shorts when I can.  This is very true when I am walking up hills and down to practice for my sponsored walk up Snowdon, now only a few weeks away!  https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/masseysmountainchallenge is the link if you wish to support me.  Carol Massey was my very first internet customer and yes, she came back for more!  The money raised is for Children in Need, something she was very involved with and Macmillan Cancer Support, some of whom helped her in her last months.

Anyway, while I walk I am inspired by the countryside around me.  This photo is from my walk yesterday, with the lovely sandstone of my childhood in this church at Thurstaston and Snowdonia in the background past the River Dee.  Another 6 miles done in about 2 hours should keep me on track to be able to keep up with everyone in just over 3 1/2 weeks!  Oooh, scary!

I really enjoy seeing the yellows and the purples peeping out from amongst the greens as I walk and so I am really inspired.  I am trying a totally new jewellery skill this week (well, new to me and I am even more in awe of those who find it simple!), but these views are trying to drive me back to my green wire to create leaves and fill them with stunning gemstones of green, purple and maybe the odd citrine for yellow.

The yellows and browns of picture jasper, bronzite and coffee jasper need to raise their heads as well, as I see bales of hay being built and corn and wheat harvested all around me.  A wonderful place to live and feeds my creativity too.  Oh yes, lace blue agate with soft greens are also good for the rivers and Irish sea!  What inspires you this week?
